Harmful “Forever Chemicals” are Putting Financial Stress on Delaware Families

Utility costs in Delaware are expected to increase in order to combat per-and-polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS. Should the state accept the proposed changes, monthly water bills could raise by 42.8%, putting the price of lobbying efforts onto families. While cleaning up these dangerous forever chemicals in imperative to the health of individuals, this proposed increase would only serve to exacerbate existing water access disparities.
