Water in Rural America
The Rural Community Assistance Partnership held a water infrastructure conference in late August, bringing together lawmakers, experts, and local officials to discuss water infrastructure in local communities. State Revolving Funds (SRF) funnel billions of dollars into fixing aging groundwater and wastewater infrastructure, but too often communities that need this funding most do not receive it. Rural communities are often unable to receive funding due to limited staff capacity, complex application requirements, and the high cost of project planning. SRFs are valuable tools, and the RCAP conference seeks to fill the gap and help rural communities access these funds.
