Community Responds to Food Deserts

A new full-service grocery store opened in Birmingham, Alabama, providing fresh produce to the community after three years without a full-service store. The neighborhood of Titusville was previously designated a food desert because it did not have a full-service grocery store. The new Carver Jones Market fills that voice, making it easier for nearby families to access fresh, nutritious food.
