Delaware’s Food Desert Response

The Delaware Grocery Initiative, a program created to increase access to affordable healthy food in underserved communities, is moving forward with its first round of funding. The program is designed to offer financial support for organizations that are committed to improving food access and the first ceremonies awarding this funding will be held the week of August 4th. The program supports the expansion of healthy food options in areas defined as food deserts. Our Health Equity applauds the Delaware Grocery Initiative for helping to ensure access to nutritious and affordable food for all Americans regardless of the communities they live in. Read more here.
