Food Banks Struggle to Meet Rising Demand

A food bank in Ashland, Oregon has seen record high demand in recent months, at one point serving 77 households in just three hours. This increase in activity can be traced back to rising food costs and job losses that have affected many communities in recent months. The need for assistance is expected to continue to rise as SNAP benefits get harder to access. Our Health Equity applauds food banks for continuing to support their local communities despite concerns about funding. OHE advocates for all Americans to have access to affordable and nutritious food. Read more here.
