Missouri’s Healthcare Crisis

A recent report suggests that 29 Missouri hospitals are at risk of closing, with 12 facing an immediate danger. These hospitals are disproportionately centered in rural areas.  Missouri ranks among the ten worst states for rural hospital closures, but this is a nationwide problem, with more than 700 rural hospitals ay risk of closing. Closures force patients to travel further for care and often worsen health outcomes for rural communities.
