North Carolina’s New PFAS Suit

The town of Wadesboro, NC is suing major chemical manufacturers for contributing to PFAS contamination in their soil. The complaint alleges that PFAS has been detected in local soil and the defendants manufactured products containing these chemicals knowing the risks they posed to people’s health. PFAS are often referred to as “forever chemicals” because they do not easily breakdown in the environment and can lead to life-threatening health issues, including an increased risk of cancer. Our Health Equity applauds the town of Wadesboro for standing up against the use of PFAS and advocates for practical PFAS cleanup strategies. Read more here.
