Nearly 50 Million Americans have Contaminated Water

New Environmental Protection Agency reports suggest that drinking water for 49.5 million Americans contain unsafe level of PFAS chemicals. These “forever chemicals” are highly dangerous and nearly indestructible; PFAS exposure can increase risk for certain cancers and other health problems. Under the Biden administration, the EPA limited six types of PFAS in drinking water, but the agency rescinded all but two of those limits in May 2025.
