New Jersey’s PFAS Problem
A new map published by USA Today reveals PFAS levels in several New Jersey Towns that exceed federal regulation. These dangerous “forever chemicals” are manufactured chemicals that lead to several adverse health outcomes. 46 public water systems in New Jersey have been found to have levels of PFAS above the EPA’s limit, with nine of those water sources containing levels that are well over the limit. These discoveries in New Jersey mimic a nationwide trend of harmful contaminants in public drinking water. Our Health Equity applauds the detection of these harmful forever chemicals in public water sources and advocates for practical solutions to protect citizens against their impacts. Read more here.
