A new report found “forever chemicals” in most of New Jersey’s waterways. Elevated levels of PFAS were found in 91% of the tested waterways, leading to concern from state officials. These chemicals are used in all kinds of products, from nonstick cookware to fast food packaging and fire extinguisher fluid. Prolonged exposure to PFAS can lead to health issues including cancer, reproductive problems, developmental delays in children, and a weakened immune system. Our Health Equity advocates for specific and actionable solutions to PFAS exposure that ensure all Americans have access to clean drinking water. Read more here.
