Green Grocery Will Improve Kentucky Food Desert

FoodChain recently opened a Neighborhood Green Grocery in Lexington, Kentucky’s north-side, bringing fresh, affordable food to the food desert. The Neighborhood Green Grocery will provide Lexington with local produce, grab-and-go lunches, pantry basics, and hygiene items. Food deserts lack access to these items because they do not have a full-service grocery store, but local initiatives like this one help bridge the gap and bring nutritious, accessible food to underserved neighborhoods. Our Health Equity advocates for practical solutions, like this new store, that ensure widespread availability to nutritious and accessible food for all Americans. Read more here.
